Washboard Hank: June 14th, 4:00 PM

Join us for an afternoon of music, laughter, and backwoods philosophy as the legendary Washboard Hank takes the stage at The Blue Room in Coboconk on June 14th at 4:00 PM! This special performance is part of the Fresh Water Summit in Coboconk, celebrating community, creativity, and the joy of live music.

For over 35 years, Washboard Hank has delighted audiences across North America with his wild energy and virtuosic musicianship. From his street-performing days captivating strangers in gritty urban settings to leading parades at festivals like Blue Skies and the Fred Eaglesmith Picnic, Hank’s mission is to spread joy—and he does it like no one else.

The centerpiece of his show is the Stradovarious Washboard, a chaotic masterpiece of bells, license plates, horns, duck calls, and pots and pans, played with breathtaking skill and flailing arms that carve out melodies in spectacular fashion. Hank also wows with guitar, 4 & 5-string banjos, dobro, mandolin, kazoo, and his iconic Kitchen Sink Tuba—a stainless steel sink rigged with 5 meters of PVC pipe, featured on The Elephant Show, Mr. Dressup, and YTV’s The Zone.

Hank’s One Man Band setup, with drums, cymbals, and kazoo, is a crowd favorite, and his heartfelt songwriting delivers a show that’s as moving as it is hilarious. With TV credits like CBC’s On the Road Again, CTV’s The Dini Petty Show, and Shining Time Station, and recent performances at the Stompin’ Tom Centre in PEI and Ohio’s Washboard Festival, Hank is a true musical legend.
